Douglas County Bank-for more than 57 years its name has meant strength, security and safety. Formed by ten community leaders in 1952, Douglas County Bank has evolved with the times to become a modern banking success story.

2010 - Mobile banking service for today's on-the-move lifestyles is planned to be offered.
2009 - Web site redesigned to provide easiest access to bank information and convenient online services, including online bill payment and FinanceWorks for easy financial management, both personal and business.
2008 - Five Star rating received for the 20th straight year for safety, strength and financial performance by top rating service, Bauer Financial.
2003 - West Sixth branch opens at the corner of Sixth Street and Folks Road, bringing another convenient location to northwest Lawrence.
2002 - Douglas County Bank celebrates 50 years of service to the community, making it the oldest existing bank founded in Lawrence.
2001 - KU Alumnus and native Kansan, Ted Haggart, becomes president of Douglas County Bank. Previous presidents included R.A. Edwards, Joe Kelly and Bob Georgeson.
2000 - Web site and online banking launched to give added convenience for fast, friendly, flexible banking service.
1999 - Eudora branch opens in C & S Market with unique drive-thru convenience, extending service to other areas of Douglas County.
1997 - The South Iowa branch at 31st and Iowa opens in response to rapid growth of business in south Lawrence.
1992 - New downtown headquarter offices completed at 9th and Kentucky, featuring distinctive architecture, extensive green space and drive-thru service.
1989 - Always leading the way with innovation, Douglas County Bank opens a branch inside the Brandon Woods retirement community.
1981 - The bank's name is officially shortened to Douglas County Bank.
1980 - In response to the rapid growth in west Lawrence, Douglas County State Bank opens its third location, the "Orchards" branch at Bob Billings and Kasold.
1974 - The Malls branch at 23rd and Louisiana opens as Lawrence's first shopping center bank.
1964 - Ross Beach, well known Kansas business leader, acquires Douglas County State Bank-the only ownership change in the bank's long history.
1961 - Bank moves to present downtown location at 9th and Kentucky.
1952 - Douglas County State Bank is established in downtown Lawrence at the corner of 9th and Massachusetts Street as the "bank of friendly service." It was only one of three banks in Lawrence at that time.
